Brussels: Celebration of Belgian heritage this weekend

Belgian Days is here! The Brussels Lions Club's 52nd annual Brussels Belgian Days is today and Sunday in the Brussels Town Park. Belgian Days is the annual celebration of the heritage of the Belgian settlement, which Brussels and a host of surrounding smaller towns are a part of.

Our area is unique as when Belgian settlers arrived in the mid-1800s, they formed an ethnic island of sorts not seen anywhere else in the country. Our surnames, distinctive food preferences and traditional celebrations have been unusually preserved, and Belgian Days shines the spot light on all of that.
