Senior 4-H dairy judging teams excel at Area Animal Science Day

Congratulations to the dairy project members who participated at Area Animal Science Day judging competition held June 28 in Iowa County. Thirteen counties competed in the Senior division with the Fond du Lac County 4-H senior team of Valerie Kramer, Darren Kamphuis, Matthew Kramer, Courtney McCourt and Andrew Greenfield taking first place.

Derrek Kamphuis was top senior individual in the competition. Valerie Kramer was fourth high; Darren Kamphuis was fifth; and Matthew Kramer was the eighth high individual.

The junior team of Kalista Hodorff, Morgan Cooper, Kaianne Hodorff and Ethan Badtke placed third. Other junior team members also participating in the contest included: Jacob Hopp, Britney Boelk, Kendra Hopp and Brooke Cooper. Kalista Hodorff was third high junior individual in the competition.

Training for this event starts in January, with practices held regularly at farms around the county. Thanks to the coaches Chad Ryan and Chris Pollack, who were also assisted by Kyle Zimdars.

The senior team and Kalista Hodorff qualify to participate in the state contest to be held in Marshfield on July 22.
