Move over, Katie Couric: Another "Today" veteran is looking to make waves in daytime.
NBCUniversal Domestic Television Distribution has announced plans for a new syndicated program hosted by Meredith Vieira.
"The Meredith Vieira Show" will debut in fall 2014 and will be produced out of New York, with Vieira also serving as executive producer.
"Each day, I hope to accomplish what I call the three H's: heat, heart and humor," said Vieira of her plans for the show, which will be taped on a homey set and will "offer an exceptional mix of daytime fun along with feel-good human interest stories from everyday people to celebrity guests."
Vieira is no stranger to the daytime talk format. Before replacing Couric on "Today," she was a co-host of "The View" from 1997 to 2006. She also hosted the syndicated version of "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" for 11 seasons.
