Newton cottage uninhabitable after fire

A cottage at 9315 North Lake Road, near English Lake, that sustained fire damage Friday afternoon is uninhabitable for at least the time being, Newton Fire Chief Tom Hochkammer said Saturday afternoon.

He said the homeowners weren't at the residence at the time the blaze broke out, and they came back when the firefighters were putting out the fire.
