Rotary welcomes speaker on military in Korea

Air Force Col. Doug Nikolai spoke to the Marshfield Noon Rotary Club during his recent visit home. Son of Dr. Tom and Hilda Nikolai of Marshfield, Doug Nikolai is a 1984 graduate of Columbus High School and a 1989 graduate of the U.S. Air Force Academy.

Nikolai has served three stints in the Republic of Korea beginning in 1992 with the most recent just now ending as he transitions to a job in the Pentagon. He served as the vice commander of the 8th Fighter Wing at Kunsan Air Base consisting of about 3,000 U.S. airmen, 1,000 Korean Air Force members and many civilians.
