The Midwest Renewable Energy Association, or MREA, held its first ever Energy Fair Raffle during this year's 24th annual Energy Fair. The grand prize was a solar hot air heating collector, valued at $1,270.00, graciously donated by the Rural Renewable Energy Alliance, or RREAL, of Pine River, Minn.

Congratulations to David Boyce of Saint Paul, Minn., who won this sustainable heating collector.

Raffle tickets went on sale at 9 a.m. June 21 during the event and went until 2:55 p.m. June 23. Also, anyone who joined as a member between May 22 and June 14 was automatically entered into the drawing. Although the rain poured down on the grounds of Custer, it did not put a damper on many fairgoer's spirits. The raffle was a tremendous success.

All proceeds help support the MREA and its mission. The MREA would like to thank everyone who participated in this raffle, as well as RREAL for its continued support and generosity. To learn more about RREAL visit www.rreal.org.
