Beating cancer has helped boomer Lorn Gordon gain perspective on life

Sixty-year-old Lorn Gordon says two experiences have given him a particular perspective on life. The first was his stint in the U.S Navy in the Vietnam War years of 1971 to 1975. The second was a successful battle with cancer during the first half of 2009. The first experience helped him understand that life can be short, and that realization motivated him to take control control of his life and set his direction. He eventually became a successful businessman, owning his own company and selling products such as windows and exterior materials for high rises in Tampa Bay, Fla.
