Autopsy determines skydiver died from drowning in Lake Butte des Morts

Athorities have determined that a master skydiving instructor died of drowning after landing in Lake Butte des Morts during a tandem jump with a student.

However, the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the the circumstances that resulted in Paul Olsen, of Belleville, in Green County, being blown off course and into the lake.

Olsen, 55, died while doing a tandem jump with the student from 10,000 feet in the air. Strong winds at the onset of severe weather blew the 55-year-old Olsen and his student away from the landing site and over the lake. ...
