Summer courses help boost revenue, aid for school districts

Summer school has been a godsend to Caleb Feavel, an eighth-grader at Shattuck Middle School who is enrolled in speed and strength classes to boost his athletic skills.

It's also been a financial benefit to the Neenah Joint School District.

Like hundreds of other students, Feavel is enrolled in courses that were launched years ago by former Neenah High School football coach Steve Mentzel. He created an off-season training program for team members - and other students wanted to join. ...
