Softball event raises funds to fight substance abuse

Besides raising money during a day of games and family fun activities, a softball benefit held Saturday also helped to raise awareness in the community that substance abuse is an issue in the area.

"There's a problem in our community with substance abuse and underage drinking," said Brook Dolezal, 17, a student at Marshfield High School and a member of the Marshfield Area Youth Initiatives Group that is working to raise money to support local initiatives to eliminate underage drinking and drug abuse in the community.
