Child OK after hit by vehicle

A 5-year-old Wisconsin Rapids boy was treated and released at Ministry Saint Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield on Sunday after he was hit by a vehicle in Babcock.

At about 4:25 p.m. Sunday, Cale J. Seivers, 5, Wisconsin Rapids, crossed from between a vehicle parked on the south side of Taylor Avenue, Babcock, into the path of a vehicle driven by Allen L. Wagler, 35, Pittsville, according to a news release from the Wood County Sheriff's Department. The child was struck by Wagler's vehicle, who was eastbound on Taylor Avenue.

Witnesses said Wagler's vehicle almost was stopped before hitting the child, the release said.

The Nekoosa EMS was on the scene at the time of the crash, the release said. Pittsville Ambulance and the Wood County Sheriff's Department also responded to the scene.
