It's Your Call: Taming mental illness

5:54 PM, Jul. 17, 2013  |  Comments

GOD'S GIFTS: Now that I have the tools to fight mental health myself, I can turn the curse into a blessing for me and others. I have gratitude to God for giving me these crosses - obesity, drugs, alcohol, schizophrenia, insomnia - because I believe that God believed in me enough to challenge me to be a better, stronger person than I would have been without these challenges. Now I can be of use to others who have disabilities and can turn them into abilities. If you tame the beast of mental illness, you can use it for your benefit and to benefit others.

Peter McKenzie,
