10 YEARS AGO: Francis and Jeanette Steiner of Granton recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary. The former Jeanette Hales and Francis Steiner were married July 9, 1953, at St. Stephen's Catholic Church in Chili.

Members of the public are invited to attend a building dedication ceremony at 2 p.m. at the Highground Veterans Memorial Park near Neillsville. The park will now have permanent restrooms available to visitors for the first time in its 18-year history.

25 YEARS AGO: Kristin Lindow of the Marshfield Future Farmers of America chapter has been attending the 1988 Washington Conference Program here. The trip was partially sponsored by the FFA chapter.

50 YEARS AGO: A new gate and wider entrance are to be constructed at the Clark County Fairgrounds with funds made available by Kurt Listeman, Neillsville. The new entrance, from 10 to 12 feet wider, will be extended eastward that distance, making the entrance at the crest of Highway 10.

75 YEARS AGO: The Neillsville chapter of the Loyal Order of Moose will sponsor "Carnival Week " in Neillsville. The William Bazinet and Sons carnival company with eight rides, 8 shows and a number of concessions and free acts has been engaged by the order.
