Screen on the Green offers family fun under the stars

Hundreds of families ventured down to The 400 Block on Friday night to kick off their weekend under the stars with "The Lorax."

Screen on the Green, hosted by Wausau Events, has been a family favorite downtown Wausau since it began in 2007. The event allows families to set up lawnchairs and blankets on the grass with a picnic dinner and watch a movie.

Kari Rasmussen, director of Wausau Events, said she enjoys Screen on the Green because it's a laidback and simple event to host, and fun for families. The event typically draws about 2,000 people, she said. ...
