A local auto dealer that suffered thousands of dollars in vandalism damage announced efforts July 16 to assist two local cemeteries also affected by vandals over the weekend.

Joe Mueller, general manager at Fred Mueller Automotive, said he received a call early July 14 from Everest Metro police that an officer spotted damage to a number of vehicles on the lot. The damage to 13 vehicles ranged from bent windshield wipers to a smashed hood, Mueller said. The vehicles will be repaired in-house at the auto dealer's body shop.
