Steinke receives award

Portage County Board Supervisor Kelley Steinke was recently honored for her five years of service on the Portage County Agriculture and Extension Education Committee. She received her award at the Wisconsin Associated County Extension Committees Conference in Madison.

Besides serving on the Ag Extension Education Committee, Steinke has served as chairwoman of the Commission on Aging and Disability Resources Center Board and as a member of the Health Care Center Committee and the Land Records Modernization and Judicial/General Government committees. Steinke also is a member of the Executive Committee for Portage County 2014 Farm Technology Days. Past government roles included chairwoman of the Town of Grant Board of Adjustment and as a member of the Portage County Board of Adjustment.

Three re-appointed to MSTC Board

Three persons were recently re-appointed to the Mid-State Technical College Board of Directors by the Board Appointment Committee. Randall Dhein, Joseph Kinsella and Dr. Alice Randlett will each serve three-year terms.

Kinsella, of Plover, is president of Pointe Precision and has served on the MSTC Board of Directors since 2001. Randlett, of Stevens Point, is a market researcher and has served on the Board since 1995. Dhein, of Nekoosa, is retired and has served on the Board since 1997.

Santos to head Office of Credit Unions

The Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions has announced that Kim Santos has been appointed to head the Office of Credit Unions, which regulates state-chartered credit unions.

Santos, a 20-year employee of the Office of Credit Unions, most recently served as deputy director. She succeeds Ginger Larson, who retired in June after nine years as director.
