Parking change causes confusion along city's ditched streets

Marshfield's rules for parking on city streets bordered by ditches have changed, and offenders are receiving tickets - a $13 fine - which has confused some people and angered others.

"I've had four complaints about this," said Gary Cummings, a City Council member whose district includes several unimproved streets, also known as ditched streets. "They weren't aware that the ordinance changed."

The law changed to allow drivers to park along city streets with ditches on the odd side of the street on odd-numbered months. It also allows for overnight parking, which was previously prohibited ...
