Shakespeare finds a receptive audience among theater-loving teens

Each year Appleton theater instructor Ron Parker opens the Summer Shakespeare Theatre program for teenagers with the same literary factoid about the Bard.

"At 24 hours a day, somewhere in the world, someone is either performing this man's work or rehearsing it, 400-and-something years later," Parker said. "There has never been a writer in the history of man to date that you can say this about."

About 50 high school students and recently graduated seniors comprise the cast and crew of "Henry V," this season's production of Summer Shakespeare Theatre, a program of the Fox Valley Summer School ...
