? Wisconsin added nearly 14,00 private-sector jobs in June, according to new data released by the state Department of Workforce Development. The state's unemployment rate fell to 6.8 percent from 7 percent the previous month.

? The state Department of Revenue forecasts moderate growth for the state for the rest of the year, according to a new report. The state is proected to add 31,000 jobs by the end of the year, with unemployment falling to 6.5 percent next year. The report notes that recovery in the housing market is a key driver of the gains.

? A new bill that will provide $25 million to start-up companies was signed into law by Gov. Scott Walker. The venture capital bill was passed with overwhelming bipartisan support in the Legislature.

? The closure after 67 years of the Sun Prairie grocery store Conrad Sentry will leave 96 people jobless, the family-owned company announced. The business's last day has not been announced.
