July 21, 1953 - Quinn joins museum staff: James Quinn, 25, has joined the Neville Public Museum staff as curator of exhibits.

Quinn is a graduate of Iowa State University and has a bachelor's degree in general science. While in college he prepared himself for museum work by studying the natural sciences and museum techniques. He was trained by the staff of the Iowa University Museum in the mounting of birds and mammals for exhibit.

He has been assistant director of the Charlotte, N.C. Children's Nature Museum. While there he taught the natural sciences to school classes and museum club groups. He also has given numerous lectures on natural history and was instrumental in the planning and showing of the museum's weekly television show.

Quinn is a native of River Grove, Ill., a suburb of Chicago. He is married, the father of a two-year-old son and a veteran of World War II.
