Nearly one in four people in the Oshkosh area work in manufacturing.

An Oshkosh Chamber of Commerce business and industry cluster analysis suggests manufacturing will remain vital to the region's economy, even growing to the point where it employs 30 percent of the local workforce.

But the analysis also recommends the community focus on nascent aviation and information technology sectors that could help diversify the community's employment base for decades to come. ...
