Wrong-way driver crashes, no injuries

A Casco woman was ticketed for driving the wrong way on a divided highway and crashing into a ditch on July 13 in the town of Union.

Wendy L. Charles, 33, was traveling south in the northbound lanes of Wisconsin 57 two miles north of County Line Road at 3 a.m. when she drove into the ditch, causing minor damage to her car, then left the scene, according to a Door County Sheriff's Department accident report. Charles received citations for driving the wrong way on a divided highway and failing to notify police of an accident.

"Driver condition" was noted as a factor in the report, but no test for alcohol ...
