Oneida tribal chairman targeted in ouster effort

In the midst of internal strife over business ventures, members of the Oneida Tribe of Indians are circulating a petition to remove tribal chairman Ed Delgado.

The move follows an earlier petition drive aimed at dissolving Oneida Seven Generations Corp., a tribal company that has stirred controversy with its bid to build a trash-recycling alternative energy plant in the Green Bay area.

Delgado has criticized the alternative energy proposal, although he has not publicly taken a stand on dissolving the company. ...
