Sydney, age nine, lost her life in an Oklahoma tornado in May. The Angle family is formerly of Fond du Lac. Sydney's grandparents are Fond du Lac residents.
Schneider's Piggly Wiggly in Fond du Lac, held a benefit for the Sydney Angle family, in conjunction with their "Meet the New Owner" sale on June 15.
The fundraiser included a brat fry, silent auction, and donation boots for the one-day event held at the store. Received were many donations from local and state businesses to assist with the benefit, which included the Green Bay Packers, Pepsi Beverages of Oshkosh, Pan-O-Gold Bakery, Jays Potato Chips, and Frito-Lay.
Fond du Lac businesses included: YMCA, Culvers, Subway, A&W Restaurant, Dominos, Ala Roma/Schmitty's, Wayside, Eden Meat Market, Ledgeview Lanes, Ang & Eddies, Hilbert's Refrigeration, Family Video, Jet Stream and Christine Zamzow/Avon.
Schneider's Piggly Wiggly thanks the entire Fond du Lac community for their generous support.
All proceeds went to the Sydney Angle Family Fund at Hometown Bank in Fond du Lac.
New owner Dan Schneider, who also owns of the Piggly Wiggly in Appleton, took over the Fond du Lac store on May 12.
