Howard will revert to municipal wells for period pending road work

The village, the first of six members of the Central Brown County Water Authority to draw its water from Lake Michigan, will go back to well water for a week or two, thanks to road construction.

That means village residents will depend on drinking water once again that exceeds federal radium standards, but, because the use will be short term, consumption is not a health issue, according to village Public Works director Geoffrey Farr.
