Hi, I'm Sylvester! I am a 2-year-old neutered male tuxedo kitty found as a stray in Marshfield. I am lazy, loveable and a total purr machine. I get along with pretty much everyone, though I can be shy around new people.

For more information about me, call my human translator (and foster home) Janet at 715-387-8008. My adoption fee is $75, and I must be an indoor-only cat.

The Marshfield Pet Motel houses stray cats that are picked up by Marshfield Ordinance Control. Stray cats come from Marshfield, and the towns of McMillan, Rock, Spencer, Day and Lincoln. They are housed for eight days pending owner claim, and then turned over to Marshfield Area Pet Shelter, or MAPS. Cats either are placed in foster care, or transferred to Clark County Humane Society.

Stray dogs are housed at a boarding facility near Marshfield for eight days. If owners do not claim dogs in that time, the dogs are transferred to South Wood County Humane Society.

MAPS is currently a "shelter without walls," but it is in the process of fundraising for a building. Volunteers, donations and foster homes always are welcome. Make sure to have your own pets spayed or neutered and microchipped.
