County Board approves 2014 capital spending projects

The Door County Board Tuesday approved a series of financial resolutions involving future capital improvements projects - anticipated spending for roads and building needs.

The first involved moving up to this year a planned 2014 upgrade of the security system and cameras at the Door County Jail on South Duluth Avenue in Sturgeon Bay. The $375,000 project would take about $260,000 from the county's unassigned fund balance - an estimated $4 million rainy day savings account of tax revenues exceeding budgeted county expenses.
