Homefield advantage in the World Series won't be at stake.

But following the cue of Major League Baseball during the past decade, the Door County League begins an experiment Thursday designed to freshen up and reinvigorate its all-star exhibition game, which has been on hiatus for two seasons.

The showcase game, in fact, becomes a joint all-star contest matching the DCL's best against the cream of the crop from the Shoreland League, its amateur summer-league twin whose teams primarily hail from Kewaunee and Manitowoc counties. The two leagues hope to develop a friendly and mutually ...
