Triathlon winners set personal records in near-perfect conditions

The skies on Sunday afternoon were gray and temperatures were cool, but conditions for last weekend's ninth annual Door County Triathlon enabled participants to finish the half ironman race without overheating, and, in many cases, with personal record times.

Emma Briggs, from Chicago, won the women's race in 4 hours, 52 minutes, 49 seconds. Mark Beversdorf, from Wausau, placed first in the men's race with a time of 4 hours, 15 minutes, 29 seconds. Both Beversdorf and Briggs set personal records in winning their respective races.
