Gardeners Invited to Free Program on Canning Vegetables

The Oshkosh Garden Club, in conjunction with the Growing Seeds of Change Community Garden, invites gardeners to a free program on Preserving your Vegetable Harvest with Canning. The program will be held on Thursday, Aug. 8, at 6:30 p.m. at Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Church Ave., Oshkosh.

Home-canned vegetables can provide good-tasting and nutritious food for meals year round. This program will teach vegetable gardeners how to preserve their fresh produce to prevent spoilage an d food-borne illnesses by using temperatures that destroy harmful bacteria.
