The Iola Village Library, 180 S. Main St., will have three Tail Waggin' Tutors available for children to read to from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. July 26, Aug. 2 and Aug. 9. All of the Tail Waggin' Tutors are certified through Therapy Dogs International.

Children can bring their favorite book or choose one from the library shelves. The main objective of the program is to provide a relaxed and "dog-friendly" atmosphere, which allows students to practice the skill of reading. By sitting down next to a dog and reading to the dog, all threats of being judged are put aside. The child relaxes, pats the attentive dog and focuses on the reading.

To sign up to attend, stop by the library or call 715-445-4330.
