Teen gets 20 days in jail for thefts, taking car

A Door County judge sentenced a Sturgeon Bay teenager to 20 days in jail and two years probation July 15 after convicting him of theft and stealing a car.

Dylan E. Austad, 19, pleaded no contest to five counts that included theft of movable property of less than $2,500 and taking and driving a vehicle without consent on April 3. The stolen car charge was amended from a felony to a misdemeanor as part of a plea agreement.

Two other felony burglary counts are being held open as part of a deferred sentence agreement. If Austad complies with terms of the agreement, the felony charges will be amended to ...
