Wisconsin State Fair boasts big-name entertainment, new foods

The annual Wisconsin State Fair will open its gates for the 2013 season on Thursday, Aug. 1, and continue through Sunday, Aug. 11, at Wisconsin State Fair Park, 640 S. 84th St., West Allis.

Fairgoers can view an exhibit of live tigers and baboons, take a self-guided garden tour, root for racing ducks or pigs, take a ride or play a carnival game on the midway, observe animal judging, visit blue-ribbon exhibits, see a show, shop for state fair souvenirs or sample hundreds of foods.
