Special Olympians place in bocce competition

The Thorp Adult Special Olympics sent two teams to the 2013 Region 6 District Bocce Competition in Onalaska on July 13.

Members of the Lots-A-Bocce team were Craig Karlen, Chris Cornell, Tanner Supple, and Kristen Seibel. Members of the Lucky Stars team were Trinity Petersen, Gary Schendel, Eva Relites, Andi Boettcheu and Carolyn Voelker.

Both teams won their first matches and were defeated in their second matches. The athletes brought home red second-place ribbons. Second-place teams are eligible for a lottery. The teams that are drawn may advance to state competition. Lucky Stars was ...
