Extreme heat last week wreaked havoc on some Fond du Lac streets that required emergency repairs.

Fixes were needed at two brick crosswalk intersections along Johnson Street. It wasn't the bricks that crumbled, but the concrete underneath and around them that cracked.

Temporary asphalt patches were placed at the Johnson Street intersections at Marquette and Hickory streets A long-term fix likely would involve permanent removal of the bricks. ...
