Manitowoc-area forecast: Cooler temps, rain

Thunderstorms and heavy rains will accompany a strong cold front pushing through the Midwest over the next few days, according to the National Weather Service of Green Bay.

Showers and thunderstorms are likely in the Manitowoc area today, mainly between noon and 5 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a half and three quarters of an inch are possible. Otherwise, it should be mostly cloudy, with a high near 75 degrees. South-southwest winds from 9 to 14 mph may gust as high as 22 mph.
