One hour

Jump in and enjoy summer to its fullest by taking the family to the Donald Copps Municipal Pool. Tucked in to Goerke Park in the city of Stevens Point, the pool offers a 162-foot waterslide, diving boards and smaller zero-depth wading pool for younger children. Cool off and enjoy the day, and check out special events such as Family Nights (held Friday night) or the free swimming days (most Saturday and Sunday mornings from 10 a.m. to noon), which are sponsored by local businesses.

One day

Grab your fishing gear and head out to the Rocky Run Spillway, for some shoreline fishing in the Wisconsin River. The Rocky Run Spillway, just north of Mead Park, is a trail that runs along the west side of the Wisconsin River. Roughly 1.5 miles, there is plenty of space to spread out for the best fishing spot. The trail is great for shoreline fishing, but is also open to hiking and biking. No motorized vehicles are allowed. Parking is available just north of the Mead Park swimming beach, off of West River Drive.
