Discussions about proposed Rome golf course continue

Plans for a new golf course announced two years ago are taking on new life as news leaked this week that a man known for building world-class courses is interested in the project.

Mike Keiser was responsible for the creation of Bandon Dunes Golf Resort in Oregon, according to the resort's website, and he's also invested in Cabot Links in Canada and Barnbougle Lost Farm in Australia, according to golf.com.

Craig Haltom, a representative from Oliphant Golf, based in Madison, confirmed Thursday that Keiser has expressed interest in the golf project that was proposed for Rome in 2011. ...
