What's Up: Downtown Wausau restaurant reopens with new look

A downtown restaurant has reopened with a new look and a slightly different name after being closed for nearly three weeks.

Jalapenos Mexican Restaurante & Bar, inside Washington Square in downtown Wausau, reopened July 19. Formerly known as El Jalapeno, the restaurant temporarily closed at the end of June after a silent partner left the business, said Angie Gonzalez, who has owned the business along with her husband, Jovani, since 2011.

The Gonzalezes decided it was time to give the restaurant a somewhat new name and its interior a fresh look by furnishing it with all-new kitchen ...
