Levenhagen and Kemnitz chosen as Eldorado parade co-marshals

Parade co-marshals for this years Eldorado Fireman & Lions Community Picnic were Jim Kemnitz and Judge Levenhagen.

? Jim Kemnitz: Otto Zahn originally got Kemnitz interested in being a fireman at age 14. He helped with fires and picnics throughout high school. He then went into the U.S. Army - serving for two years in Korea. Upon returning, he joined the Eldorado Fire Department. He was the first one in the department to go to the Fox Valley Tech Fire Fighting School - paying for it with his own money.

Kemnitz was very proud to be assistant chief and fire chief. He was dedicated to help with many projects over the years. Jim's hobbies include working with old tools and antiques in his shop; gardening; and his pond by his retirement log cabin that he built. Jim is married to Sandy and they have two children.

? Judge Levenhagen: Judge has lived in Eldorado all his life. He is married to Joyce for 45 years and they have one child. He formally worked as a carpenter. His hobbies are woodworking; restoring old garden tractors; and gardening.

He joined the Eldorado Fire Department at age 18. During his 30 years he was very active, serving as fire chief in the 70s. Judge, along with Francis Simon and Jim Zickert built a replica of the old waterwheel mill for a float, which was entered in the Centennial Parade on July 4, 1976, in Fond du Lac. They won a large trophy for their efforts.

Judge was also in the U.S. Army for two years, serving in Vietnam.
