Solutions Center, Fond du Lac's only homeless and domestic violence shelter, is hosting a men's breakfast event titled "Building Men of Character" from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 7, at South Hills Golf & Country Club, 1175 Fond du Lac Ave.

This breakfast is dedicated to not only celebrating the men of character in our community, but providing education on what it means to build up boys into men of character. It is a time for men of all ages to come together, enjoy each other's company and honor the successes of the men in our community who have overcome adversity to start new chapters in their lives.

Bishop Russ Jacobus of the Diocese of Fond du Lac in the Episcopal Church is the featured speaker, along with other speakers who will share their journeys through life and experiences with Solutions Center. "Solutions Center is proud to host this event," said Teresa Keenan, community relations director. "Both our board and staff feel it reflects the very heart of the mission lived at the organization every day."

The cost to attend is $30 per person, or $230 per table of eight. Those interested in attending the event can contact Solutions Center at 923-1743 or e-mail tkeenan@solu tionsfdl.com

Solutions Center Shelter and Support Services provides shelter for men, women and children, up to 35 people at a time. More than 350 individuals are sheltered annually, including 150 children.
