The Campbellsport Public Library will be hosting the following activities in the upcoming week:

? Movie Monday: The showing of the film "42" will be held on Monday, July 29 at 1 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. This movie is Jackie Robinson's story told in biopic from writer/director Brian Helgeland. Robinson paved a new road for minorities by being the first African-American to play in Major League Baseball since the racial barrier was put in place in the late 1800s.

This film stars Harrison Ford, Chadwick Doesman and Alan Tudyke. The film is rated "PG-13." We ask that anyone under the age of 18 please attend this showing with an adult. This is a free drop-in program. Free popcorn will be served.

? Movie Tuesday: On Tuesday, July 30, James and the Giant Peach will be showing at 1 p.m. From the director of the critically acclaimed A Nightmare Before Christmas, comes another magical stop-motion animated adventure. Based on the terrific children's book written by Roald Dahl, James and the Giant Peach tells the captivating story of a young boy's journey and his unforeseen encounters with human-sized insects and a juicy, giant peach.

This film is rated "PG." Anyone under the age of 9 will need to attend the showing with someone older. This is a free drop in program. Free popcorn will be served.

? Winding Down Wednesday: On July 31, the library will be hosting the last of the Wednesday Summer Reading Programs for Children. In the morning at 10:30 a.m. children ages 3 to 6 are invited to celebrate summer by playing beach games, making a craft, and listening to stories. In the afternoon at 1 p.m., older children are encouraged to play organized games, led by Miss Katie.

? Fresh Air Friday: The Roaming Readers Walking Club meets every Friday at 8:30 a.m. at the library. The group will walk for approximately 30-45 minutes on the village sidewalks. Anyone is welcome to join us for some fresh air and exercise. This is a free weekly drop-in program.

? Book Sale Backers: We are looking for volunteers to help organize the annual used book sale on Friday, Aug. 2 starting at 10 a.m. On the first day of set-up we organize tables and take the books and movies out of storage and start arranging the items on the sale tables. The following week the items need to be sorted for the sale. This can be done anytime we are open.

If you are interested in helping us get ready for this sale please call the library; or e-mail director@campbellsportlibrary.org to sign up to volunteer.

? Info: If you have any questions about any library program or service, call 533-8534; or e-mail director@campbellsportlibrary.org.
