Candidate Barbara Knauf began her formal relationship as a novice with the Sisters of St. Joseph of the Third Order of St. Francis during a ceremony June 26 at the St. Joseph Motherhouse Chapel.

She was joined in celebration by sisters, associates, family and friends during the Rite of Reception into the Novitiate.

Sister Barb became a candidate with the SSJ-TOSF in 2011. A native of Marathon, she had been keenly interested in the Franciscan way of life since attending student retreats at St. Anthony's Spiritual Center in Marathon. Her father, LeRoy Knauf, serves as a deacon in the La Crosse ...
