Kathleen "Kay" and Eugene "Gene" Worzalla of Stevens Point celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 29 with a family dinner at the couple's home.

The former Kathleen Knitter and Eugene Worzalla were married on June 29, 1963, at St. Bronislava Catholic Church in Plover.

Before retirement, Gene and Kay owned and operated two grocery stores in Rosholt and Plover. Prior to that, Gene worked as a meat cutter and owned and operated Geno's Koko Club in Plover. Kay was a homemaker.

The couple enjoy traveling, boating, gardening, and spending time with their children and grandchildren.

Children of the couple are Shelley (Jeffrey) Firkus of Custer, Tammy (LeRoy) Duda of Stevens Point and Nathan (fiance, Amy Giesen) Worzalla of Neenah. They have five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
