Q: I suffer from frequent headaches. I'm not sure if they are migraines or a different kind of headache. My question is how many types of headaches are there, and what treatments are available?

A: There are several ways of looking at head pain or headache. An easy way is to think of the issue as "in the brain" or on the surface of the skull, or associated with another disease process. Headaches involve a combination of arteries, nerves and muscles and hormonal influences.
