Water assessment of south Wood County lakes underway

To assess the water quality in both Lake Nepco and Wazeecha, water sampling is being conducted throughout this spring, summer and fall.

Twice monthly, water clarity and temperatures are being taken. Temperature readings of the lakes are being checked at 2-foot intervals. In June, July and August, additional tests for phosphorus and chlorophyll are being collected.

This testing is an effort to begin a more comprehensive study of the current water quality status of both lakes and to compare to previous samples to see if the lake's water quality has changed or is being ...
