Group fulfills outdoor dreams of ill children

Seven children with life-threatening illnesses experienced the thrill of bear hunting last fall in northern Oconto County, thanks to dedicated outdoorsmen and women and numerous supporters who worked for months to make the event possible.

Three of the seven hunters harvested free range wild black bears, while other four had a positive outdoor experience, according to DNR Conservation Warden Joe Paul of Lakewood.

"The smile on the faces of these kids and families makes this whole experience so worth it," Paul said. ...
