Letters to the editor: Constitution protects rights of minority

6:19 PM, Jul. 30, 2013  |  Comments

How do you protect the minority people?

How can you stop the Democrat majority from pushing around minority people? You can start by embracing and supporting the unique law in this world that was created to protect minorities. You will find this law in the United States of America. It is called the Constitution which gives us a Republican form of government in Article 4 Section 4 by creating a legal starting point giving human rights and extra power to the minority.

That power is given by requiring a super majority to change or take away anything from the minority , anything given by the Constitution. Our legal starting point of law cannot be changed by any Democrat 51 percent majority. We do have a majority rule Republican form of government for many things but to change the Constitution (our legal starting point) a super majority and a difficult pathway (which requires inclusion and help from the minority) in a super majority of the states is required.

Our Republican form of government and our Constitution which gives us our Republican form of government is the only protection that the 49 percent minority has. Many people will say but, but, but... The only but is that if we did not have our Republican form of government and our Constitution, then a 51 percent majority most likely would already have been assembled at some point in time, changed our legal human protections and set legal pathways for tyrant rule, with our Constitutional means to remove, taken away from us. There have been, are now and always will be groups urging you to support a 51 percent majority rule, discard Constitutional rule and guarantee of a Republican form or government. Those groups have already made you believe that we have a Democracy.
