City Band announces lineup for final concert

"The Best of 2013" will be the theme when the Stevens Point City Band presents its final concert of the year at 7 p.m. today in the band shell at Pfiffner Pioneer Park. The band is under the direction of Kathryn Kawleski.

The final concert will feature highlights from the summer season, including "Selections from Aladdin," "Jungle Fantasy," "The Toy Trumpet," "Instant Swing Concert," "Albanian Dance," "Tijuana Brass in Concert" and "The Stars and Stripes Forever."

"The Thunderer" by John Philip Sousa will be the music for the weekly children's march.

Admission is free. Audience members should bring chairs or blankets for seating. In the event of inclement weather, the concert will be held in the gymnasium at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, 1919 Wyatt Ave.
