A vacancy on the Merrill School Board was created by the resignation of current president Jeff Verdoorn.
Residents in Merrill Area Public Schools have until Aug. 30 to apply for an open position on the Merrill School Board.
The vacancy has been created by the resignation of School Board President Jeff Verdoorn. Verdoorn, whose resignation is effective todaycited changing job responsibilities as the reason he needs to leave the position.
The School Board has posted a notice inviting any community member who is interested in serving on the board to a submit letter of interest and resume to the district office. Board members plan to interview applicants and select a new board member on Sept. 11.
Meanwhile, because Verdoorn was the School Board president, the remaining board members will select a new president in a vote on Aug. 12, according to a district news release. For more information, people may call the district office at 715-536-4581.
